Creating your CV

A CV stands for curriculum vitae - that's Latin for Contents of Life! And that is exactly what it is. It tells employers about your education, experience and interests and is presented in such a way that could really help you get a job.

This section will help you to write your CV. A good and effective CV needs thought and preparation.

Take time to consider what you want to say and how to say it. You may find it helpful to draft out your CV first.

Guidance notes are included on each section of the CV builder. It will help you to complete the CV if you read the guidance notes first. You can ask for help and guidance from your Personal Adviser.

You do not have to complete all the fields, for example you may not have any professional training or it may not be necessary to include any information under Personal Details.
